Genting International Children Festival 2016
Approximately over a hundred children from Selangor homes were invited to be a part of the official launch of Genting Children’s Festival at First World Plaza last week. This massive event in Genting was held from the 12th to 20th of March 2016. As they promised to have even bigger and better than before, their highlights of their event this year were the SnowWorld Wonderland, balloon fest, clowns, Old Master Qs, and talented cheerleaders. In conjunction with the school holidays, this event had brought lots of children and families fun.
The event is graced by YB Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, the Deputy Minister of Women, Children & Community Development. After the official launches were made successfully with all kinds of entertainments such as balloon sculptures, performers, clowns and dancers, the guests were later on greeted by the Old Master Q, a well-known comic figure accompanied by funny clowns delivered a live show daily in the event. Entertainments and shows were held at 12 noon, 5.30pm and 8pm throughout the days daily.
Before proceeding into the balloon festival site, the main stage of Times Square where the Old Master Q live show were held, was also a venue where the clowns and performers showed their stunning performances. D8 who made a spectacular appearance at the stage. Children were thrilled and enjoyed watching the clowns juggling the pins and balls on stage. Afterwards, 16 clowns in total were scattered on their respective stations to entertain the visitors all around First World Plaza.
Moving on to the balloon festival site, it was balloons and more balloons everywhere. They built Malaysia’s “Biggest” Monkey for Malaysia Book of Record! Their main highlight was the 20-foot tall giant Monkey shaped balloon were structured for this event. It was an awesome sight as the structure is located at the center of Universal Walk. Besides the giant Monkey, there were so many more other colorful and interesting balloon structures such as lions, elephants were made for display. It was an excellent photo opportunity for all of the visitors in Genting. There was a balloon platform made for the visitors, as well as the balloon pet shop.
In addition, towards the evening of the event, award-winning Cheer Aces from Subang Jaya gave an exciting and adrenalin performance that had successfully attracted many visitors to gather and watch. These cheerleaders had wow-ed the audiences with their stuns and coordination. They conducted a live performance and also taught the audiences some simply steps on cheerleading. Cheer Aces were the bronze award-winner at Asia Cheerleading Invitational Championship 2015.
The Genting International Children Festival was a memorable carnival parade with all sorts of entertainments that had satisfied many visitors in the event.
